Lon Strickler – MUFON Scandal, the Chicago Mothman, and Smelly Ghosts

During the upset in the ranks of MUFON a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that researcher Lon Strickler had taken the lead in exposing the strange and vicious racist comments of one of the organization’s inner circle. We started the show with a discussion of the issues surrounding this defining period.

Strickler is better known as an investigator and chronicler of all manner of strange crypto and paranormal phenomena though, and we launched into a discussion of the recent spate of “mothman”-like encounters in the Chicago area as Lon listed the particulars of many sightings. I didn’t know that there was a history of interest by the Federal authorities in Bigfoot sightings, but my guest recalled his own experience in 1981 when he saw the legendary “Sykesville Monster” and described an apparent rapid response team that took over the site after telling him to leave.

I also asked Lon about his interest in the Pennsylvania Powwow, which is a folk healing tradition that traces its origins to colonial America. We moved on to the bizarre 2002 disappearance of Todd Sees in rural Pennsylvania and Strickler’s theory that it is a UFO abduction which ended in death, and which may have been covered up by the local authorities.

We ended with an account of a ghost sighting in which Strickler was left with a cloying and persistent odor of honeysuckle on his body after a close encounter with an apparent spirit entity. The smell stayed with him for a week and drove his wife and co-workers away.

  1. Have you had a sighting of a flying humanoid or huge bird-like creature in the Chicago, Illinois metro area or nearby? The entity has also been referred to as the ‘Chicago Phantom’, ‘Chicago Mothman’, ‘Chicago Owlman’ & ‘Chicago Man-Bat.’ Please feel free to contact me at lonstrickler@phantomsandmonsters.com – your anonymity is guaranteed. Our investigative group is conducting a serious examination of his phenomenon. We are merely seeking the truth and wish to determine what eyewitnesses have been encountering. Your cooperation is truly appreciated. You can call me directly at 410-241-5974 as well. Thanks…Lon Strickler #ChicagoPhantom

  2. I haven’t even listened yet but I just want to confirm that smell is easily quantum nonlocal – so the qigong master who befriended me can smell what someone is cooking – over the phone – and when I did the intensive training fasting for 8 days on just half a glass of water, I could smell cancer like rotting flesh – through the walls. So the other Chinese qigong master said how qigong masters can smell cancer – like a dog can smell cancer – but I could not imagine how anyone could stay in the same room with this one man, a big conference room full of people. The man said he had traveled far for special healing. As the qigong master healed him then his rotting dead flesh smell went away but that night – then I happened to be in the room next to him. I knew this because I could hear him getting down with a lady friend and what shocked me was his rotting flesh smell came back. I was shocked – how could she be in the same room with him, much less getting down? But in fact she was bringing his smell back – or the two of them lowering their frequency of energy. I felt bad that he had used the spiritual energy that had healed him and quickly deconverted it to lower frequency without realizing his rotting flesh death smell came back.

In contrast the qigong master when doing healing will create a strong flower smell – that often others can smell. I will listen to the podcast now. thanks.

You discuss mind blowing topics like UFOs & extraterrestrials yet you still find time to virtue signal about racism!

Is that because you are mixed race and the guest was a jew? I’m asking in good faith. Perhaps your unexplained phenomena are closer to home.

I enjoy your shows. Keep up the good work.

    Regards

      Thanks for the compliment.

Virtue signaling? The issue at hand was the scandal in MUFON, involving John Ventre’s racist comments. If you’re trying to dig deeper for any meaning, I’m afraid that’s all on you. If you’ve listened to my shows for any length of time, you would know that I deplore any sort of “politically correct” dialogue. This show has been about free-form conversation since the beginning. If I had to watch what I said because I was afraid of what listeners might say or think, I wouldn’t be doing this in the first place. The fact that you had to mention our backgrounds makes me wonder why you even felt the need bring it up in the first place, despite your “good faith” qualifier. You are treading on dangerous ground with me here.
