Michael Masters – Neoteny and Time Travel and UFOs

Michael Masters earned his doctorate in Anthropology in 2009 and is on the faculty of Montana Technological University. His specialty is in biological anthropology and evolutionary biology, specifically the study of fossil hominid skulls to trace trends in evolution as well as studies of the eye socket to determine the causes and solutions to visual disorders.

In 2018, he released “Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon,” a study of evolutionary trends which may lead humans to eventually appear like what we now describe as the popular concept of “aliens,” which is known as neoteny (“the slowing or delaying of body development, compared to non-human primates, resulting in features such as a large head, a flat face, and relatively short arms.”)

The other main premise of his book is that if we eventually begin to look like aliens, there is the possibility that we may be returning from our own evolutionary future and appear as what we know as UFOs and their occupants. We discussed the theoretical possibility that backwards time travel is possible. Masters maintained that the events of the past half century may be very interesting to anyone traveling from the future because of all the rapid changes which have occurred.

Masters also believes that the embargo on UFO discussion may be “just about to pop” and that academics will “be their own disclosure.”

Wow! Wonderful conversation. PhD in biology here, with research focus in vertebrate physiology. You touched on some really interesting topics. Thanks!

  2. Thanks Adam, i’m glad you enjoyed the conversation, especially as a fellow biologist. Cheers, Mike

A pet theory of mine is that the greys could be “extraterrestrialterrestrials”. That they are indeed the same species as us, but do come from another planet and/or are space faring entirely at this point. Perhaps humans are not indigenous to earth, but one way or another were seeded here by the “us” from a similar atmospheric planet (or planets) elsewhere. Perhaps they were seeded, and the seeders were seeded, and so on.

So my pet-theorized “ETTs” treat earth and its inhabitants as a sort of cross-section of self-referential research facility/laboratory and zoo/theme park. That’s what we do here with other species (not to mention our own) and would certainly do so off-planet if given the technology.

I could blab on and on (moreso than I already have!) with details about how this could fit based upon the evidence, but I won’t insult your intelligence. I’m a bit more comfortable with the “ETT” theory than the extratempestrial one because I’m too dense to unpack the various paradoxes and overall concept of time travel. Of course, I’m not married to this or any other theory, and ultimately believe that the phenomenon is multi-faceted — and likely beyond our scope of comprehension.

Great show, guys, and keep on truckin’!

  4. Conservation biologist Michael Soule points out that evolution for large mammals ended in the 1970s due to lack of habitat. Humans, as primates, are also “large mammals” and so evolutionary has already ended for us. http://arctic-news.blogspot.com is a good site on this – the East Siberian Arctic Shelf methane bomb is about to go off. Abrupt global warming now is at least an order of magnitude faster than any previous mass extinction of species on Earth.
